IS THERE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A GOOD ENGLISH NAME AND HIS/HER ABILITY TO CONVERSE IN ENGLISH WELL?

We've been cracking our heads trying to shortlist some nice English names with good meanings for 囡囡.  We're not really into the origin of the names, we just wish to have a decent one with good meanings.

A friend commented (which I think it's very superficial and quite humiliating), 'You put up a bombastic English name for your baby but she speaks lousy English'.

Is there any relationships in between these two subjects?  A person with an English name must be a person who speaks good English?  I don't get it!

What if a person who speaks good Mandarin, does this mean the person cannot be having an English name and his/her name must be a bombastic Chinese name?  He/She might be having an extraordinary Chinese name, eg. Tan Ah Kow or Tan Ah Kiew!

I think this is rather the level of respect you give to the parents who give their babies a name and the babies who are having the name.  Speaking good English does not bring you to a better personality of yours, which I personally think this weigh much more.  I would prefer my babies to have good personalities instead of speaking only good English in order to have an English name!

Sorry if I have offended you too!

It's time for my pre-natal checkup again.  We have been very excited recently when it comes to the pre-natal checkups as we get a chance to see 囡囡 on the screen.  She is always a shy 囡囡 to us, she never has showed her face on the screen.  It's always difficult to catch her facial expression on the screen.

After talking to her the day before that we wished to see her face, she finally showed us.  Dr. has been good to us, showing us her face on 4D on the screen (at not extra cost.  Hahaha...)!  She tries to cover her mouth and Dr. tries to move her palms away but it fails in the end.  We can only see her eyes and nose, better than none-lah...  Hahaha, we are satisfied!

From the screen, we can see that 囡囡 has the daddy-eyes and mummy-nose.  I don't know how to define whether 囡囡 is pretty or otherwise but all that I hope is a healthy 囡囡.  I personally think all daddy & mummy out there see their children as the most handsome & pretty.  Hubby insists that 囡囡 is pretty, like an 'angmo gia'!  I'm really not sure how clearly hubby sees 囡囡 on the screen.  All I can do now is to practise 'The Law of Attraction.  If you think it is, it is!'.  Hahaha...

囡囡 has been a good baby, always listens and obeys us.  She has been responding promptly to our voices, whenever we talk to her.  The happiest person would be hubby.  She avoided hubby for quite some time, maybe she needed more attention and time with hubby but hubby was too busy back then.  Hubby has just recently settled down with his new job and he can now spend a lil more time with 囡囡 at night, talking and playing with her.  囡囡 feels him more now but responding and playing with him.  Hubby is always good in playing kiss-kiss and tickle-tickle games with 囡囡.  囡囡 loves playing games with hubby!  They are so happy playing while I watch and laugh away...

My only private time with 囡囡 is during the bathing time.  I teach 囡囡 how to wash face, hair and body.  She is like knowing how to do all that after I guided her step-by-step for about a week.  She bathes with me everyday!  This is amazing!  I just love the feeling!

It's only 11 weeks apart from REDD.  I've been experiencing 'Practice Contraction' for the past few days and Dr. said this is completely normal at my time.  My body is practising contraction to prepare me for labour and this condition will last till my labour.  This is why some preggies have false alarm, especially when WK40 is approaching.

We've made a date with 囡囡 at WK40, we've been telling her that she'll be meeting us at WK40, 11 weeks to come.  Although we are eager to see her, we hope that she gets my message and be a full term baby.
