MEMORY CARD

I guess GGC has started building her memory card in her little brain. When she sees this photo, she smiles and says, 'nen nen'. It has been almost 7 months since her last direct latch on. I am not sure if she misses breastfeeding but I definitely miss the bonding time we have.

GGC started weaning off when she was 10 months old. I am not too sure it was a feeding strike or weaning off, she just refused direct latch and drank lesser than usual. Whenever I offered her direct latch, she would shake her head and turn away. It happened naturally, lesser direct latch, lesser pump and eventually stopped pump and weaned off entirely.

This photo was taken on her 1st birthday celebration at The Nook's Cafe, The Loft, KL Sentral. I posted it up on The Breastfeeding Advocates Network (TBAN) as a little encouragement to other breastfeeding mothers out there. Being a breastfeeding mother is never an easy job. Being a breastfeeding advocate on top on daily work task is even more challenging. Home visits and replying messages on Whatsapp are killing me! At the moment, I only do for my friends, not expanding to the public yet. I really cannot imagine how I could cope with the loads once I do it publicly. No regrets thou... I still enjoy being a breastfeeding advocate. 大愛精神萬歲!

WEFIE OVERLOAD

THE SKY IS NOT ALWAYS BRIGHT

Cranky GGC
GGC is crying for no reason :(
This weekend is the longest ever (Friday to Sunday), nanny was on annual leave last Friday.

Taking care of GGC is equivalent to cardio exercise for hours/day. Heart beat fastened by x times, watching her out climbing on sofa, standing on bed, jumping and running all around and stuff like that...

Nanny is always telling me that she is a good girl, always an obedient girl, always a cheeky girl. Most of the time I cannot visualise and feel what nanny describes, GGC is a super manja baby when she is at home with us. She cries over little things and sometimes with no reason, she goes 'ngek ngek ngek'.

This weekend is even worse, she is down with flu on Friday and cough packaged in on Sat. She is even more manja and cries a lot, a lot... I guess more than 50x a day! Myself is down with sore throat, flu, cough and heaty body since last Tuesday and still going... GGC must have got her sickness from me! Sorry, babe... And I am finally down with fever, I am off today, on sick leave... :(

GGC has constipation issue since she started solid at 6m1w old. Apple and sweet potato are the BIG NO NO in her diet! Her constipation issue is still an on-off headache for me. And she constipates this weekend. Argh... Everything comes at a go! Luckily, later in the evening, she releases one big hard stool after we feed her some dragon fruits (She cries out loud as if being slaughtered. LOL~~~). She is so so happy after her bath, running around doing monkey jumps and laughs out loud. I guess she feels less bloated and more comfortable after the release. Hubby says her tummy goes down by a size after the release. LOL~~~

No milk before sleep for her, she has her late dinner at 8pm! Blame it on the evening nap after the swim. Good night, GGC...

P/S: Yet, I say thanks to God for His protection over GGC. If I recall, this is the second time she falls sick. The first was during 2014 Chinese New Year, when we were away for HKG trip and left her with my in-law. She was +/- 12m3w old. She grows healthily :)

GGC IN MY FAVOURITE OUTFIT

GGC at almost 18 months old

I know size 80 no longer fit GGC. I buy this sport suit at size 90, hope that it can last her till she reaches 2 years old. Hmm... it is so tight fitting, especially at her tummy area. Gosh... I love this sport suit very much too and I do not wish to sell it off so fast on Preloved :(

GGC grows up so rapidly that I have lost monitoring her size. My dad says she has grown taller by at least a foot since he last met her a few weeks ago. Wow! That's a lot!

I wish I could have more time spent with her, to watch her grows cheeky and naughty. And this is cheeky her :)

I AM BACK AFTER ~ 19 MONTHS

I have been hoping so much to be back to a life of blogger. I miss those days when I wrote almost everyday, wrote about almost everything that I saw and experienced, wrote about every incident that happened on me and so on... Indeed, the most valueable topic that I missed out in the entire 2012 was my pregnancy journey and 2013 was my rocking days coping with my newborn, breastfeeding, her growth, her development...

It has been 19 months since my last update and that marks the age of my beautiful daughter, who is coming to 19 months old this coming 14th. Motherhood is never easy, what makes it more difficult - stressful days in working life. Hallelujah, I survived it! Praise the Lord!

I have been reminding myself all the while, to give thanks everyday, to at least one thing that happens to me, be it good or bad. Today's thanksgiving would definitely go to the bunch of ex-colleagues that made their precious time for the dinner cum gathering. I cherish every moment spent as we do not get to gather as and when we like to. We used to gather once or twice a year during Chinese New Year or Christmas and once a while we planned for a short getaway trip. I miss the happy times we had in our Hatyai trip. For that, we have decided to meet up more frequently and we have just set up a mission to plan for a short getawat trip again, within this year, maybe to Port Dickson. Yay!

Guess what... My daughter was still awake when I got home at 10pm+. Her usual sleep time is around 9pm to 930pm. She needs me to sleep. Hmmm... *sweet*

13.12.2012 - PROSPERITY BURGER IS BACK IN TOWN

McD's Prosperity Burger is back in town.
I swear I gonna make a set into my stomach before my labour.
Let's make it tomorrow, 14.12.2012, after my routine pre-natal checkup.

IS THERE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A GOOD ENGLISH NAME AND HIS/HER ABILITY TO CONVERSE IN ENGLISH WELL?

We've been cracking our heads trying to shortlist some nice English names with good meanings for 囡囡.  We're not really into the origin of the names, we just wish to have a decent one with good meanings.

A friend commented (which I think it's very superficial and quite humiliating), 'You put up a bombastic English name for your baby but she speaks lousy English'.

Is there any relationships in between these two subjects?  A person with an English name must be a person who speaks good English?  I don't get it!

What if a person who speaks good Mandarin, does this mean the person cannot be having an English name and his/her name must be a bombastic Chinese name?  He/She might be having an extraordinary Chinese name, eg. Tan Ah Kow or Tan Ah Kiew!

I think this is rather the level of respect you give to the parents who give their babies a name and the babies who are having the name.  Speaking good English does not bring you to a better personality of yours, which I personally think this weigh much more.  I would prefer my babies to have good personalities instead of speaking only good English in order to have an English name!

Sorry if I have offended you too!

05.10.2012

It's time for my pre-natal checkup again.  We have been very excited recently when it comes to the pre-natal checkups as we get a chance to see 囡囡 on the screen.  She is always a shy 囡囡 to us, she never has showed her face on the screen.  It's always difficult to catch her facial expression on the screen.

After talking to her the day before that we wished to see her face, she finally showed us.  Dr. has been good to us, showing us her face on 4D on the screen (at not extra cost.  Hahaha...)!  She tries to cover her mouth and Dr. tries to move her palms away but it fails in the end.  We can only see her eyes and nose, better than none-lah...  Hahaha, we are satisfied!

From the screen, we can see that 囡囡 has the daddy-eyes and mummy-nose.  I don't know how to define whether 囡囡 is pretty or otherwise but all that I hope is a healthy 囡囡.  I personally think all daddy & mummy out there see their children as the most handsome & pretty.  Hubby insists that 囡囡 is pretty, like an 'angmo gia'!  I'm really not sure how clearly hubby sees 囡囡 on the screen.  All I can do now is to practise 'The Law of Attraction.  If you think it is, it is!'.  Hahaha...

06.10.2012

囡囡 has been a good baby, always listens and obeys us.  She has been responding promptly to our voices, whenever we talk to her.  The happiest person would be hubby.  She avoided hubby for quite some time, maybe she needed more attention and time with hubby but hubby was too busy back then.  Hubby has just recently settled down with his new job and he can now spend a lil more time with 囡囡 at night, talking and playing with her.  囡囡 feels him more now but responding and playing with him.  Hubby is always good in playing kiss-kiss and tickle-tickle games with 囡囡.  囡囡 loves playing games with hubby!  They are so happy playing while I watch and laugh away...

My only private time with 囡囡 is during the bathing time.  I teach 囡囡 how to wash face, hair and body.  She is like knowing how to do all that after I guided her step-by-step for about a week.  She bathes with me everyday!  This is amazing!  I just love the feeling!

It's only 11 weeks apart from REDD.  I've been experiencing 'Practice Contraction' for the past few days and Dr. said this is completely normal at my time.  My body is practising contraction to prepare me for labour and this condition will last till my labour.  This is why some preggies have false alarm, especially when WK40 is approaching.

We've made a date with 囡囡 at WK40, we've been telling her that she'll be meeting us at WK40, 11 weeks to come.  Although we are eager to see her, we hope that she gets my message and be a full term baby.
