Scone alike Pancake :) |
Kiwi Yogurt Dip |
100g self raising flour
100ml full cream milk
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
Pinch of salt
1 tbs caster sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
Methods:
1. Mix self raising flour, baking powder and salt (A).
2. Lightly beat egg in full cream milk with caster sugar.
3. Add the beaten egg mixture to (A). Lightly whisk till smooth.
4. Fridge the mixture for 30 minutes.
5. Heat frying pan. Grease the frying pan with olive oil with a brush.
6. Coat pancake mould with olive oil with a brush and place the mould on the frying pan.
7. Put in batter into the mould. Remove mould when bubbles are seen on the surface of the pancake.
Tips:
1. The pancake here is rather thick and scone alike as my plan is to serve the pancake in yogurt dip. How to ensure the pancake is cooked since it is so thick? The method is exactly
the same as u test a cake in the oven. Poke in a toothpick and it is cooked if the toothpick is clean when you pull it out.
2. How to avoid burnt surface on uncooked pancake? Low heat all the way.
3. How to successfully detach the pancake from the mould? Grease the pancake mould with olive oil before putting in batter.
